Coming up in the near future here is MDGS's annual Spring Goat Day, held in collaboration with Michigan State's ANR (agriculture and natural resources) Week. Sprin Goat Day will be at MSU's Anthony Hall on March 12, 2010. Registration starts at 8:00 am. This year, we have some great changes to present to you. As usual, we will have a youth creative writing contest, cooking contest, soap making contest, and cheese contest. The new MDGS youth representative will be announced. And this year, we have an all-youth lecture thread for the entire day. We'll begin the morning with our 2010 MDGS Youth Rep Runner-p, Bethany Schreur, who will be presenting a lecture on 4-H and FFA Opportunities. Then, our 2008 MDGS Youth Rep, Shawnee Williams, will be teaching judging from 10-11. She'll be followed by the 2009 MDGS Youth Rep, Tyler DeWeerd, with showmanship from 11-12. Lunch will go from 12-1. At 1-2, Tyler will be presenting a lecture on fitting and trimming. Finally, the 2-3 pm lecture, Preparing for and Participating in an ADGA National Convention, will be presented by yours truly.
